THIS PAGE IS FOR ENGINEERS
You do not need this information to install the Rain Tracker in any
front wiper control application.

We sell and support the Rain Tracker rain sensor only for automotive
front-wiper control applications, and can offer very little applications assistance
for other applications.

The following describes the Rain Tracker RT-50 auxiliary output.
This is the connector located next to the DIP switches and the LED.
That is, we provide an output, but offer no assistance in using this, and
take no responsibility whatsoever in any consequences from using the output.
We specifically recommend against using the Rain Tracker to automatically
activate any motor (such as a power window) that could cause anyone any harm.
And you are more or less on your own for figuring out the engineering of your system!

Suitable wire* 22 AWG stranded

1) Ground - Black
2) B+ (12V)
3) Raining Output (active low, open collector.)
4) Rear wiper output.

You may connect a 12V relay to B+ and the Raining Output. The RT-50 will turn on the
relay when it is raining, and disengage the relay when it stops. If you use the relay
to subsequently control anything, it is your responsibility to provide appropriate
safety interlocks. We specifically recommend against using the Rain Tracker to control
anything that could cause injury, such as power windows.

You may also connect a 12V relay to B+ and the Rear Wiper output. This relay will
engage at an appropriate rate for control of a rear/liftgate wiper. The details of
how to wiper this into the system are up to you-- we cannot provide wiring diagrams.

The Rain Tracker wiper control system works in parallel with the existing wiper system, so the existing manual control modes are not affected.  This page generated by vehicle data file name: aux_output.veh
